When you think Southern California, you inevitably think about the most famous industry here. While film studios are located in Los Angeles, on any given day, local streets, parks or beach areas may host star trailers and cameras. Since the 1900s, Long Beach, CA has become other cities—often doubling for Miami or San Diego—thanks to the magic of television and films.
While there is not an official tour of the famous locations around town, finding the spots where more than 500 films and thousands of television episodes have been shot within the city limits is possible to do on your own.
A number of websites note the Long Beach locations for favorites such as “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,”“La La Land,” “Dexter,” “Anchorman,” “True Blood,” and “Lodge 49.”
Television crews are always on hand for the annual Toyota Grand Prix.
