Two-time Grammy award-winning and official mariachi band of Disneyland, Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea will play Long Beach to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Sunday, October 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The band will appear at Hotel Maya’s 12 Months of “Maya-achis,” a monthly mariachi Sunday brunch happening at the seaside restaurant, Fuego.
Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea was the first all-female group to be nominated for a Grammy and the first one to win. Founded in 1999 by trumpet player Cindy Shea, the group has several CDs in release including a recent 20th anniversary album.
Fuego, the Latin American infused restaurant that overlooks the Pacific Ocean, the Long Beach skyline, and the Queen Mary, is known for one of the largest tequila selections in the region. Each month throughout 2019, 12 different mariachi bands will perform.
Hotel Maya’s 12 Months of “Maya-Achis” Sunday brunches will mark special occasions throughout the year such as Valentine’s Day, Long Beach LGBTQ Pride, and Hispanic Heritage Month, among others.
Fuego Sunday Brunch begins with a refreshing complimentary drink of House Champagne or Mimosa. Next guests select an entrée from the server including Fuego Eggs Benedict, Pandulce French Toast, Steak Tampiqueno, Chilaquiles, Achiote Mojo Salmon, Citrus Braised Pork Carnitas, Ropa Vieja or Plantain Crusted Sea Bass. Then indulge in an endless feast of Chef’s Selection of Salads, Fuego Ceviches, Fuego Taco Station and delicious Desserts.
