Volunteer With G4G OC/Long Beach At This Year’s Friendship Walk!
Join G4G OC/Long Beach as we partner with Best Buddies International for their annual Friendship Walk! Volunteers are needed to assist with event set up and registration. This is the leading walk in the country supporting inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (also known as IDD).
Date: Saturday, April 23
Time: Multiple Shifts Available
- SHIFT 1: 7:00–9:00am Assist with setup and decorations.
- SHIFT 2: 8:30–10:30am Assist with registration and participant check-ins.
Location: 200 Aquarium Way Long Beach, CA 90802 (There is a parking lot located at 99 Golden Shore, Long Beach, CA 90802)
For those unable to attend in person, consider participating through fundraising, walking in your local neighborhood, and following the action on event day on Facebook and Instagram at @BestBuddiesCA.
Additional details: Shoes should be closed-toe and comfortable. Please wear a plain black shirt if possible (avoid logos, screen tees, etc.). This event is outdoors so a water bottle and sunscreen are also recommended.
Age requirement: Volunteers under 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.
COVID Guidelines: The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is an outdoor live event with less than 1,000 people in attendance. In accordance with the local city and state health mandates, use of a well-fitted mask is recommended while indoors and in close proximity. All tables will have hand sanitizer available and food products will be served by an event staff, not self-service. Please stay home if you have had known exposure to COVID-19 in the last 10 days or are displaying symptoms.
