Event Details

Please join us on Saturday, June 29, 2019, for our second annual OUT LOUD festival celebrating the artistic and cultural contributions of the greater LGBTQ+ communities. We are so thrilled to be presenting this beautiful, dynamic multi-disciplinary showcase of art, poetry, music, dance, and more. Website: http://outloudlb.com/

***STAGE PROGRAM***

Saturday, June 29, 2019
1:30-4:00pm (Doors open 1:30)
Art Theatre Long Beach
2025 E 4th St, Long Beach, CA 90814

Hailing originally from the Philippines, singer Angel Bonilla will headline the event, sharing her story as the first trans woman on NBC’s The Voice. A choral orchestra called United Voices will serenade the audience, and a pair of dancers from CSULB will perform original choreography. Queer anthropology professor Gregory Mattson will address the audience with a brief speech about queer futures, and literary artists will share poetry, short fiction, and short essays from the heart. One young woman was chosen to present her youth essay on “Queer Futures.” And more!

There is no admission fee to attend this event. All are welcome! Seating is limited at the Art Theatre so reserving a ticket on Eventbrite is highly recommended. You may also choose to support this programming with an optional “donation ticket” – all support is appreciated!

***MISSION OF OUT LOUD***

By highlighting the diverse creative contributions of the queer community, OUT LOUD aims to celebrate diversity, foster appreciation for LGBTQ+ art and culture, and expand an atmosphere of inclusion for all.

We believe in healing the divides in society through art. Art shows us who we are, and reflects our lives back at us. This multi-disciplinary festival knows there are no bounds to the creativity of the LGBTQ+ communities, and we are here to recognize their talents.

If Pride celebrates who we are, OUT LOUD celebrates what we create.

***PARKING***

Street parking is available around the area, but please plan to arrive early to allow adequate time. We are able to offer a limited number of parking spots at Burbank Elementary School for $5 on a first-come basis. This is a highly trafficked area, so carpooling, biking or ridesharing is highly recommended!
